Katharina Benterman

Born on the 6th of March 1987 in Sandefjord, Norway, Katharina started riding as a 6 year old and got her first pony at the age of 12. From there she progressed to become Norwegian Champion in 2002 with Ringo Star and in the same year, she competed at the European Championship at Zangersheide, Belgium.

In 2003, Katharina was one of two riders to compete at the Europeans in Ireland where she finished 10th. The same year she became Norwegian Champion with Steps Corry Well. Katharina also competed at the Junior Europeans in Switzerland with Tenderbird Volo and became Norwegian Champion Young Rider with Greyfriars Bobby Volo in 2006.

Since meeting her husband Nick, she has spent much time developing and marketing the company. In autumn 2009 their first son Phillip was born and along came William just 1 1/2 years later. Alongside organising the daily running of the company, Katharina now concentrates on producing horses for top sport and sales.



Nick Benterman

Born on the 12th of January 1984 in Essex, England. Nick started his career with British rider David McPhearson. After two years of training, he moved to Stal Poels in The Netherlands.

From there his riding career started, he was 4th in the Dutch Young Horse Championship and in the same year he secured himself a sponsor with Wessex Vehicle Services, England. With this sponsor behind him, he build a team of horses which he had many successes with. Some highlights include competing in the Junior Nations Cup (Reims, France) and competing at Olympia Horse Show by the age of 18. He also had many other placings internationally.

From there he started his own business and rode the World Championship for Young Horses. This is where his interest for selling horses started. Nick has been involved with many prominent horses such as: Roulette (who competed at the Beijing Olympics), Skip Two Ramiro (who is now jumping internationally with Guy Williams) and U2U, produced from novice to World Cup level and is now jumping with the Norwegian Young Rider Ninni Braathen.

Over the years, Nick has been placed in many international classes up to World Cup level and since starting Volo Sport Horses in 2009, he has sold over 150 horses worldwide with clients ranging from novice to international riders such as olympic rider Tim Stockdale.
